Christchurch Aerial video

Just as a moving image taken from the ground is commonly more involving than a still image, the same is true for aerial video.

This has always been more of a challenging medium than still photography as the stability of the camera platform is all important. It wasn’t until the development of the gyro-stabilizer (a system using flywheels turning at high speeds) and more recently three axis gimbals (a system using brushless motors and an inertial measurement unit to maintain the desired camera attitude) that aerial video became a viable medium.

It has been the latter technology that has allowed the use of drones to take beautifully stabilised low-level aerial video.

Iconic Media can supply video footage taken with either a low-level Remotely Piloted Aerial System or conventional aircraft if the situation demands it.
